Where there is One...

Kevin and I were checking out the dozzer work that was being done on our roads, well, let me back track. The people that adjoin us have mule teams that they pull buggys with and they ride on our old logging roads. David and Shannon, its those narrow roads that you guys went 4-wheeling on that WERE narrow. Well, they asked Kevin if they could bring their dozzer in and make it wider. Kevin jumped on the idea and they brought their equipment in and now we have wide roads. It is very nice. Now when I ride behind Kevin, I do not get smacked with tree limbs! So we were on our way back driving down Tammy's road and there in front of us was a snake Kevin slammed on the breaks and turned around. COPPERHEAD! Gets his rifle off it'd mount and aims, fires, DEAD!! He got it. 3 and half feet long and as wide as a fifty cent piece. I got off the 4-wheeler to get a closer look and he informs me that COPPERHEADS travel in pairs. I run to the 4-wheeler and that is where I stayed. Kevin said if this snake bite any of the boys, they would have been VERY ill! If it bit one of my cats, they would have been DEAD! So I am glad he is dead and everyone is safe!

Do My Eyes Deceive Me?

I was working in my garden when I heard a load pop. A few minutes later, another POP. So I walked around to the back of the house to see what was going on and I couldn't believe my eyes! There was Kevin, in the treehouse, zeroing in Uncle Cleveland's rifle! After all the grief Kevin gave me for having it built, and how it was nothing but a redneck eye sore, it is useful after all!! MEOW!

What the Blog!

Jennifer keeps telling me BLOG! So here I go! DId you know that there is a world of blog topics out there? I mean, I blog for my family. That's it. It all started while I was watching the evening news with Briam Williams. (I think I love him)! I saw a commercial that went like this: Woman wakes up to hear a hair dryer going in the bathroom. She gets up and goes in and finds a rooster sittingf on top of it. Then it cuts to a black screen with "silence your rooser" so of course I had to go to the sight because who could resist. The site was soooooo slooooow at loading and I am sooooo impatient I decided to google it. So I went to the first site that popped up and fell into the blog of William McCamment. Talk about your funny! SO I read. And read I did. For about 2 hours straight. His musings led me to other sites and whoops, there went another 2 hours! Then, just by chance, I found it: The blog to end all blogs, outside of my family's blogs, of course! And what was the topic. CATS!!!! ANother funny site, to me anyhow. So I thought I would pass these sites on to all of you, my loyal readers! Oh wait, I have no subscribers......

Oh well. ENJOY!

The One that got away: Literally

This is Monday and today was return to the old rut and routine of having to work for a living! So I decided to go to school by way of the Livingston County Board of Education so that I could drop off a file and meet the new Superintendent, Kenneth Bargo. I was winding my way down the back roads, wildlife all around: racoons, dogs, deer, and well, the one that got away. Really, I am not kidding! I almost got killed trying to get the evidence in this picture! Only in Livingston, County, Kentucky does road kill include the one that got away!!

The "Bridge"

A trip to San Fran would not be complete without a trip to the Golden Gate Bridge. Our first trip to the bridge found it under a cloud. It really looked absolutely beautiful! The clouds just kind of hung right above the bridge.
Our last day, we decided to stop by the bridge and go to th Golden Gate Park. Beautifl! I loved the flowers and greenery!

Big Ol' Trees

Now this is a big, BIG, tree!!

Too Hot

Kevin got home last Friday and let me know that he had the next week off. Just in time, lots of work to be done. Our driveway keeps washing away, fence row needs to be mowed, bush hogging needs done, lawns need to be mowed, flower beds need to be up kept at Delmus's,and so on. So we work on Saturday, Sunday, and on Monday. Boy, it was HOT! Hottest day of the summer and we are clearing a flower garden and dripping with sweat! I thought Delmus was going to have a heart attack! SO, Kevin tells us we are going to California! To see the big trees! And he books us a flight and we are gone! SanFransisco!

Here is me, Delmus and Kevin riding the tram to the rental car. When we get there we head for the famous Fisherman's Wharf! And me, being the savvy traveler, check weather.com for the forcast and I am wearing a nice warm sweatshirt, while the boys are gravly underdressed. I am warm, they are freezing! After all, it is a a balmy 58 degrees. And WINDY! We find a nice place to eat, the Sea Lion Cafe. Why the name? Take a look! Sea Lions EVERYWHERE!

After dinner and some oogaling at the sea lions, (no barking at them or you'll get arrested!) we walked on downthe Pier 39. We saw a lot of neat things. A giant spider, some kissing sea lions and a flower crab!

A New Resting Place or Flower Bed?

I would like to say "Thank You" to David, Shannon, Cody, Alonzo, Colin, and Grayson for helping me turn my empty flower bed into a beautiful flower bed. I have been watering them and keeping them well hydrated. Today happened to be the hottest day of the summer, with a heat index of 108 degrees so as soon as I got home, I put the water to my flowers and let my house bound kitty's outside. I had to come back inside to get a water can and when I returned to my flower bed, I found Bob and Kitten taking in the coolness of the freshly watered bed.
